Mobile crushers and screeners are among the most valuable and most specialist pieces of plant equipment. They're bought and sold by quarrying, demolition, recycling, and civil engineering companies — and the buyer pool, while specialist, is active and international.
Whether you're selling a jaw crusher that's done years of primary crushing, a mobile screener that's been working demolition arisings, or a complete crushing and screening plant, this guide covers what your equipment is worth and how to sell it.
Types of Crusher and Screener We Buy
Jaw crushers — primary crushing; accept large feed material and crush it between a fixed and a moving jaw plate. The most widely used crusher type in quarrying and demolition.
Impact crushers (horizontal shaft impactors — HSI) — use impact force rather than compression; produce a more cubical aggregate product; often used for concrete and softer stone.
Cone crushers — secondary and tertiary crushing; produce fine, well-graded aggregate; used after jaw crushing in aggregate production.
Mobile screeners (vibrating screen plants) — separate material into different size fractions using vibrating screen decks. Single deck, double deck, and triple deck configurations. Also: trommel screens (rotating drum) for wet or sticky material.
Trommel screens — rotating drum screens; used for composting, biomass, topsoil screening, and other applications where flat-deck screens struggle with wet or cohesive material.
Shredders / wood chippers — for biomass, waste wood, demolition timber, and green waste. Doppstadt and Komptech are the leading brands.

What Affects Crusher and Screener Value?
Hours and production volume. A crusher at 3,000–4,000 hours is considered well-used; under 2,000 hours is strong. Production volume (tonnes crushed) is a better indicator of wear than hours alone for heavily-used machines.
Jaw plate / blow bar / cone liner wear remaining. The wear parts are the most expensive consumables on a crusher. New jaw plates on a mid-size jaw crusher cost £3,000–£8,000; blow bars on an impact crusher can cost £5,000–£15,000 per set. Buyers factor remaining wear part life directly into offers.
Screen deck and mesh condition. Worn, torn, or clogged screen meshes are factored in by buyers. Recent mesh replacement adds value.
Engine make and condition. CAT and Cummins engines on crushers and screeners are preferred by buyers for parts availability and familiarity. Scania and Volvo engines are also well regarded.
Conveyor belt condition. Worn, cracked, or damaged main and side conveyor belts reduce value and are checked carefully.
